Gold Vermeil is Sterling Silver that has been covered in a thick layer of Gold. With vermeil, the base metal is always 925 Sterling Silver which is heavily plated with solid Gold. It is less expensive than pure Gold, and more durable than your regular plated jewellery - so it’s a much preferred option for everyday.
